Expanding Educational Opportunities

Understanding the importance of education in shaping the future, Cyber1defense Communication Charity Africa and Cyber1defense Communication Ltd believes in empowering young minds with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the digital world safely.

On the third day, Thursday, 27th June 2024, the team visited Henry Community Basic School, Awudome Senior High School, University of Health and Allied Sciences(UHAS) in Hohoe, and Gbekor Senior High Schoo was aimed at providing students with access to technology and promoting cybersecurity awareness. There was an engagement on the dangers of cybersecurity and how harmful they can be, the leader of the team David Gyedu (DK Cyber) emphasized on the dangers of sharing personal information on the internet, citing a popular morning show TV presenter case on what she did in the past and later popped up on the internet. He cited many other happenings that was captured via video and later send on the internet after a misunderstanding broke out between the parties.

LAPTOP DONATIONS

As part of their advocacy efforts, Cyber1defense Communication Charity Africa, in partnership with Cyber1defense Communication Ltd generously donated laptops to the visited schools. Henry Community Basic School received three laptops, while Awudome Senior High School was provided with five laptops. A section of student of The University of Health and Allied Sciences in Hohoe also received three laptops, enhancing their educational programs. Additionally, Gbekor Senior High School receives five laptops, which leads to discovering an inspiring story.

INSPIRING STORY: : Gbekor Senior High School’s ICT Lab

During the visit to Gbekor Senior High School, the team discovered a well-constructed ICT lab with tables and chairs but no computers. This realization points up the urgent need to address the lack of technological resources in the school. Moved by the situation, Cyber1defense Communication Charity Africa and Cyber1defense Communication Ltd decided to resource the lab with some computers to enhance their learning as the team Understands the transformative power of technology in education, hence readily deciding to come back and help establish a functional ICT lab.
